This is an indiegogo crowd-funding project. The MorphCase promises to turn a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation iPod touch into a “100% WiFi mobile phone”. What it actually does is plug into the iPod’s headphone jack and snap around the device to add a speaker at the top for your ear and a microphone at the bottom so you can hold the touch to your ear like a phone. You’ll still need to download and use a VoIP application and WiFi to actually make the calls. For a $30 early-contributor pledge, you’ll receive a MorphCase in your choice of black or white. The minimum pledge increases to $35 once the limited early-contributor spots are claimed. A pledge of $75 is required for the chrome-colored case. The funding period ends October 3, 2012.
